In a bold move, Acharya Gunadharanandi Maharaj of Varur Navagraha Teertha Kshetra has set a 10-day deadline for the Karnataka government to respond to five critical demands from the Jain community. Chief among these is the establishment of a Jain Development Corporation, aimed at uplifting the community's socio-economic status.

The seer's ultimatum comes at a time when many community members feel overlooked by the government, raising questions about the state’s commitment to minority rights and welfare. Will the Karnataka government heed these demands and take action to ensure accountability, or will they continue to ignore the voices of the marginalized?

If the government fails to meet these demands, the Acharya has threatened to undertake sallekhana, a form of spiritual fasting, in December, which underscores the seriousness of the situation. Citizens are left to wonder: what will it take for their government to prioritize social justice and community welfare? As reported by The Hindu.
