How we verify claims before we publish.
Last updated: June 2026
Every significant factual claim is checked against primary, credible sources before publication. We prioritise official records, on-the-record statements, peer-reviewed research and first-hand documentation.
Where a claim cannot be verified, we either withhold it or clearly label it as unconfirmed. We never present rumour as fact.
We are committed to countering misinformation. When we examine a viral or contested claim, we explain the evidence and our reasoning so readers can judge for themselves.
We aim to link to sources where possible and to explain how a conclusion was reached.
