Indian Cockroach is an independent digital news platform built on a single conviction — that credible information is a public good.
Indian Cockroach reports on the issues that shape the lives of ordinary citizens: social justice, government accountability, public welfare, national affairs, the Constitution of India, agriculture, employment, education, the economy, technology, artificial intelligence, the environment and public policy.
We are guided by a simple editorial philosophy — of the people, by the people, for the people. Our loyalty is to the public, not to any party, corporation or interest group.
Unlike a typical blog, Indian Cockroach keeps a focused, rolling seven-day window of news. A fresh set of stories is published every day, and editions older than a week are retired automatically. We believe this keeps our attention — and yours — on what matters now, free of clutter and noise.
Many of our daily stories are compiled from public news feeds and rewritten in the public interest. We always credit and link the original publication, and we hold ourselves to the standards in our Editorial Policy and Corrections Policy.
Our work is conducted in accordance with the laws of India, including the Information Technology Act and applicable rules governing digital media. Read our Editorial Policy, Fact Check Policy and Corrections Policy to learn more about how we work.
