'Hunted Like Animals': The Fear Gripping Latino Builders Under Trump's ICE Crackdown
Every morning, long before dawn, Texas construction workers prepare for another day of hard labor, while an unseen threat looms. Unmarked SUVs filled with ICE agents patrol the streets, targeting Latino workers like Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, who was allegedly killed by agents during a raid. This chilling reality raises urgent questions: What protections exist for these essential workers? Why are they being hunted instead of celebrated for their contributions? As reported by The Guardian, many Latino builders now live in fear, their hopes for a better life overshadowed by the looming threat of deportation and violence. The government must answer for this failure to protect its workers and uphold the dignity of those who build America.
