Lagarde emphasized that without developing its own AI capabilities and building domestic data centers, Europe risks being at the mercy of foreign powers in critical negotiations.

Lagarde stated that Europe must create AI models that are sufficiently advanced to handle most tasks independently. "If Europe invests in its own AI tech, the threat of being cut off loses its force," she remarked, highlighting the urgent need for the continent to take proactive measures to ensure its technological sovereignty.
